Self Assessment Mid-Semester

In this learning community I have found many compelling articles and topics that we have gone over. At the beginning of the semester we went over what Web 2.0 really is and how it comapares to the original Web 1.0. This was most interesting to me because we went over various different applications that I use everyday so I easily related to this topic because of the innovating new programs such as Flickr. Also going back to the Scholz readings these topic questions really got my brain going! It was very interesting reading articles such as these because I couldn't relate to this much so I had to expand my knowledge which is always a great thing because I really like learning about new things everyday!

What I like most about this NCLC 249 class is that it goes over what new technology is out there on the web and how convenient they are to use to make my life more simple! I really liked how we went over how to use delicious because I would be that person at home scrolling forever down my favorites list trying to find the link I want. Now I know how to use delicious and it makes looking for favorites or bookmarks so much easier and it saves me a bunch of time which is always a good thing. Another great thing about this learning community is that I can relate to almost all the topics that we go over in class in the real world. In most other classes I would be going over topics with no use of me using in my free time. While during NCLC classes such as this one I can most certainly apply all knowledge given here to my daily use and upgrade my computer skill knowledge in ways that make me a great source for computer use.

The major that I am currently pursuing is adveritsing, one of the reasons why I took this course was to find new innovating ways in which the computer can help me both market, promote, and make things look more appealing by using various computer programs. Knowing how to develop ways to advertise and promote items is key. The internet is blowing up with social networking as we discussed in class and by going over the advertising perspective too, I can relate to this because one day I might be that guy looking to pay either facebook or myspace for advertising space on their social networking sites. I defenitely feel that for the second half of this semester that I will defenitely find more ways in which it can advance my advertising skills. So I am glad in taking this class because its advancing all of my computer skills in which they can help me succeed in the real world advertising.

For this sundays episode of Make it Through the Night, I will be playing some hardcore dance music. I will attempt to get you out of your seat and start moving around. Some artists that I will be featuring in my show are DJ MIND, DJ Marksi and Vicious Pete. Some make sure to listen in because this will be one dance party you don't want to miss!!!

Volleyball

In this weeks episode of Make it Through the Night, I shall be going over the Men's Volleyball Season here at George Mason University. Make It Through the Night!

For this weeks episode of Make It Through the Night I will be playing all sorts of music. Mainly each week there is a genre of what music is usually played such as rock or rap. This weeks show will be totally spontaneous! A little bit of Ozzie a little bit of Wyclef and who knows maybe even a little bit of BAHA MEN! The Enur Factor

If you ever listen to any radio stations that play top forty hits you will most likely here the song Calabria by the group Enur. I find this very intriguing because this song Calabria came out in the year 2005. I like this though because this means that there is a lot of music out there that still needs to be discovered. As this song was discovered in dance clubs, and is now one of the hottest songs out there. It has even been remixed by famous artists such as Pitbull and Mims. So this just shows that we need to explore what is out there in the music world because, without searching music loving souls songs like Calabria would have never ever reached our ears. So thanks to all those who listen to various types of underground hits. You guys ROCK!

Are you ready?

For this weeks edition of Make it Through the Night I will be playing music that will get you pumped up. After a week of relaxation from midterms and break, its time to reload wake up and smell the fresh coffee! Some hits that i'll be playing in this weeks show are Alive by POD, and some dance hits here and there by DJ Markski, and who knows I might throw in the occasional AC/DC hit! Who better then Wyclef Jean

On this weeks edition of Make it Through the Night I will be playing a lot of Wyclef Jean, Mostly new hits off of his newly released album. The reason for playing Wyclef this week is because I am going to make this weeks show very relaxing. Not high energy like the show usually is but more chill type of music. You can almost call it a reggae night because I might even throw in a few Bob Marley hits just to help you make it through the night. So tune in to Make it Through the Night for all of your favorite hits.
